7.05 Threats by MR & ED (Part X)

as retold by RepairmanBob
MR: The study. Lex is watching a video of the Clark / Mr. Hassad conversation from the lab. The tape has been damaged – you can only see and hear Mr. Hassad. “Hello, Kal-El. I was wondering when you would show up…You can call me Mr. Hassad. I know all about you, Kal-El. What you have done, what you will do in the future. What the Kryptonians have been doing to the people of this world for centuries.” Lex flinches, and we get footage from Vessel and Zod.
ED: Clark marches into the study.
JG: Does he slam the double doors open?
MR: Of course.
TW: Why can’t Clark ever open door like a regular person?
KK: Because he was raised in a barn?
JG: Too easy.
ED: “You won’t get away with this, Lex.”
JG: So they did find the farm boy porn on Lex’s computer!
MR: Lex waves Hope away. “Can you be more specific, Clark? I am not sure what baseless accusation I am supposed to be denying today.”
ED: “This Salvation cure – the will world know what you did at Level 33.1. You may try to hide it, or blame a dead senator, but people will learn what you did.”
MR: “What I did? I offered hope to thousands, Clark. At great financial loss and personal risk, I am providing a cure for meteor rock infection. How many people could be freed from Belle Reve tomorrow, Clark, with Salvation? How many families could be reunited?”
ED: “So the ends justify the means? All the people you tortured, all innocents who died – it is all acceptable?”
MR: “Let me make this clear, Clark. I will do whatever it takes to keep humanity safe. Speaking if which it is curious how many of your former friends have been identified as members of the Green Arrow’s little terror cell. Bart Allen, Arthur Curry, Victor Stone – you know some dangerous people, Clark.”
ED: “It is a dangerous world, Lex. Someone has to protect it.” Clark turns to walk out.
MR: When Clark gets to the door, Lex calls out. “When you see Chloe, tell her I would be happy to put her at the top of the patient trial list for Salvation.” He smiles.
ED: Clark turns around, and walks back into the study. He walks around the room, looking at various objects, but does not make eye contact with Lex. “You know, Lex, my parents taught me a lot of things.”
JG: Like knowing the love of a cow.
ED: “They taught me there was a right way and a wrong way to do things. They taught me about honoring your word and how important it is to be honest. About helping others, and trusting them to do the right thing when they are given a chance.”
MR: Lex looks bored.
KK: I get that.
ED: “And I would like to think I can help other people to understand these values. To make the world a better place. There is one special person I would like to talk to about these things, Lex.” Clark looks directly at Lex, and the smile drops. “I would like to talk to the man who abducted Chloe Sullivan last year.”
MR: Lex smiles. “I have no idea what you are talking about, Clark.”
ED: “Oh, I am sure you don’t. I would like to talk to the man broken into Chloe’s apartment and took her from her bed. Who sliced into her stomach and stole her memory. Who tore into her body and put a chip in her shoulder.” As Clark speaks, he moves closer to Lex, and his voice drops.
JG: Looks like Clark and Lex are playing rough tonight.
ED: “I would tell him how Chloe screamed when that chip was pulled out of her shoulder.”
MR: Lex flinches slightly.
ED: “I would tell him how Chloe woke up sobbing with night terrors for weeks after her abduction.”
MR: Lex flinches again.
ED: “And I would tell that man, Never. Again.” Clark hits Lex’s desk with each word. We need Scary Clark here, Tom. “I would tell him Chloe Sullivan is off limits.”
MR: “Chloe is in a dangerous line of work. She angers power people –“”
ED: “You don’t understand, Lex. If anything happens to Chloe, I will find the man responsible. And when I do, there will be no truth. There will be no justice.” Clark gets right up in Lex’s face. “There will just be me. And I will end him.” Clark leans back, and smiles. “That is what I would tell that man. Do you think he would understand, Lex?”
MR: Lex looks wary. “I think... he would get the message.”
ED: “I am glad to hear that. I will see you around, Lex” Clark walks out
MR: Lex watches Clark go. As he walks out, we hear Mr. Hassad’s voice. “Hello, Kal-El. I was wondering when you would show up.”
