Introduction to 7.06 Consequences

as retold by Maniac and PhantomChic

[KK and JG are in the writer’s room going over a few things before the rest of the cast arrives]
JG: Now you’re certain you have everything ready with Michael.
KK: For the last time I’m sure. This was my idea remember.
JG: I’m just making sure.
KK: Yes, I showed him the scenes and he’s agreed to the deal. We have nothing to worry about from him. You went over everything with Annette, right?
JG: Yep, and she has agreed with everything. Your addition to the deal was perfect. Everything is just as we hoped.
KK: [smiling evilly] So there is no way the cast can veto us.
JG: Al & Miles?
KK: Handled.
JG: See what happens when you really plan things out before acting?
KK: Yeah, I’m definitely seeing the appeal in the Magnificent Bastard approach. I could get used to this.
JG: Well my Magnificent Bastardette; let’s get ready for the show.
[The rest of the cast enters and takes their seats. MR winks and AoT nods toward KK and JG. AM comes in last with a big smile on her face.]
MR: Allison, are you feeling okay?
AM: Of course Michael. Why do you ask?
MR: Well you seem kind of…happy. You do remember who wrote this episode right?
AM: Of course. But you see Michael, when you go about things calmly and rationally they have a way of working out.
KK: In other words she went running to Al and Miles again.
TW: You didn’t.
JG: She did.
[Everyone looks at AM in disbelief.]
AM: Don’t worry, I didn’t agree to anything. I just explained my worries and Al and Miles promised to take a look at the script to make sure they didn’t do anything too bad.
AoT: So you guys had to hand in a copy of your script to Al and Miles for approval?
KK: Yep.
MR: That sucks.
KK: Don’t worry Michael. Everything is just fine.
JG: Now then. We would like to start off by describing our promo for the episode.
TW: This should be interesting.
JG: The Pompous Smallville Voice reads: “Next week on an all new Smallville.”
KK: There’s a Black Screen with red words reading “Next Week on Smallville”
JG: Soft, slow, foreboding music starts playing as the PSV reads “For everything we do there are consequences.”
KK: We show clips from old episodes: Chloe using her powers, Lex talking about “the cure”, etc, ending with the shot of Lana and Lionel from 7.01.
AM: Subtle.
[KK grins, JG just chuckles]
JG: The PSV reads “Lana Lang returns to Smallville.”
AM: Wait, Lana? She's not in this episode. I read the script...
KK: What, you thought we wrote a Lana-free, Lionel-heavy episode with practically no Chloe? So you figured you were safe?
[The color drains from AM's face]
KK: Gee, maybe I turned in the wrong script. This is a big episode for Chloe.
TW: Wait, what was the script you gave Al & Miles about?
JG: Oh, we gave them some piece of tripe about Lionel framing Flash for blowing up a school bus.
KK: Oh, Allison. I can’t believe you thought we would waste our episode on that?
AM: You can't just turn in a fake script! They won't let you make this episode.
[JG & KK look at each other and smirk]
JG: We'll see. In the meantime, you can sit down and listen to what we have.
KK: And you never know what might happen. I can be very persuasive if I have to be.
[AM sits back, stunned and not quite processing]
KK: You’re in for a lot of surprises Mack. I hope you’re ready.
AM: I think I’m going to be sick.
KK: Anyway, we see a clip of Lana and Jimmy with Lana saying “I’m going to see Lex.”
JG: The PSV continues talking, “just as everything plunges into chaos”.
TW: Sounds like this place.
KK: The music ramps up into dark, high energy music. We see accelerating clips of Chloe crying into a phone, Lois being chewed out by her editor, Lionel and Martha arguing, Clark super speeding down a road, a man dressed in black pulling out a gun in an alley. Then, a black screen and silence as we hear Chloe yelling angrily “How could you!” Then the music comes back as we see a clip of stuff flying around a levitating and obviously crazy Chloe.
ED: I don’t like the sound of that Lois clip. What did I do to make you mad, Kristen?
JG: Actually, I was in charge of your scenes.
ED: Oh. Well then I should be fine. [Everyone looks at ED like she’s crazy]
JG: You’re kidding, right?
ED: What?
JG: You stole my show and got me stuck in this place again! This episode is my revenge just as much as it is Kristen’s.
ED: You’re not still mad about that little misunderstanding?
JG: Little misunderstanding! [Visibly calming himself down] Listen. You know how Kristen feels about Allison right?
ED: Yeah. Tom and Annette explained it all to me.
JG: And you know why right?
ED: Um…yeah. It’s because she got Lana resurrected and our season erased.
JG: And why does that anger her?
ED: Because it means she’s still on…the…show. Oh.
AM: At least there isn’t a clip of you going crazy.
TW: Face it Allison, you knew this was coming.
AM: I tried to apologize.
KK: Don’t care. You screwed up, and now it’s time for you to suffer the consequences.
JG: Let’s get back to the promo; we’re getting to the good part. There’s another black screen as the PSV says “And before it’s all over…”
KK: Dramatic pause.
JG: “Someone”
KK: Shot of Hope pointing a gun off-screen.
JG: “Will”
KK: Shot of the man in black turning a corner and pointing a gun off screen.
JG: “Die”
KK: Another black screen. This time with a big red blood word “DIE!”.
JG: A gunshot is heard.
KK: Now the music really ramps up and gets crazy. Think like when Buffy was spinning in “Once More With Feeling” as she got closer to combusting.
ED: What?
AoT: The music is really fast.
ED: Oh ok.
KK: I thought everybody watched Buffy?
MR: Apparently not.
KK: Anyway, we show clips of Chloe being pistol whipped by Hope, [AM rolls her eyes] Clark flying into the ceiling, Hope…
TW: Wait what? Clark is not flying into a ceiling. Clark isn’t even allowed to fly remember?
KK: *sigh* I didn’t mean he was flying like that. I meant he was sent flying into the ceiling.
TW: Oh great, that’s so much better.
KK: Anyway, back to the clips. We see Hope picking up a piece of kryptonite, Lex flying across his office, a close-up of Jimmy as his eyes go wide, Lionel pounding his fists on Martha’s desk, and finally the camera rushing in on Lana’s screaming face. Then the screen cuts to black.
JG: There is silence as red blood drips down and covers the screen, then the blood parts to shape the words “Smallville (a line down) Consequences” date, time, etc.
ED: Isn’t that a little morbid?
KK: Not for this episode.
JG: Besides, this promo might actually get people to watch the show.
MR: I know I’d watch. Ok probably not, but you never know.
JG: Finally the PSV reads “Smallville. Consequences. [JG and KK both look evilly towards AM]
AM: *gulp*
JG: This Thursday at 9 o’clock/8 Central on the CW,” or whatever time it is.
AM: You don’t even know what time our show airs?
JG: You think I watch this show anymore? Please, I just read recaps off of some site a fan showed me.
KK: Hey, that’s exactly what I do.
MR: Same here.
TW: Doesn’t anybody actually watch our show anymore?
[Everybody looks around]
ED: I watch my scenes. Well, the highlights anyway.
TW: Great.
KK: Can we finish this promo already?
AM: It’s not over yet?
KK: [glares] Almost. Soft and dreamlike music plays as we switch to watching Sex walk through a trashed office. Cut to Sex holding Chloe’s head in his hands as she cries and he softly whispers “I can fix it.”
JG: And Black! That’s the promo.
