7.06 Consequences by KK & JG (Part VI)

as retold by Maniac and PhantomChic

JG: We come back to Lex sitting in his office working on something on his computer. Hope knocks on the door and enters. “She’s here.” Lex tells Hope to send Lana in as he puts a security lock on his computer.
KK: Cut to Kahloe sitting cross-legged on the desk. “Remember what we’ve talked about. All she’s put you through. It’s time to get your nuts back from that annoying little pink squirrel.”
TW: Do you really think you can get that last part in the episode?
KK: Probably not. But I’m going to try.
JG: “Don’t worry. I know exactly what I’m going to say to Lana."
KK: “This better not turn out like all the other times when you backed down.”
JG: “Don’t worry, this time will be very different.”
AM: Yeah, right.
MR: Just listen.
[The door opens and Lana walks in]
KK: “Hello, Lex.”
JG: “Lana." Lex looks back to Kahloe but she is gone. "Do I need to turn on the video surveillance to head off any accusations that I’ll attack you?”
KK: “I’m not going to frame you again.”
JG: “Of course not. Even the Metropolis police would probably have doubts if you try crying wolf again. So why are you here?”
KK: “Closure. I want to put what happened between us in the past.”
JG: “Surely you don’t expect me to take you back.”
KK: “I didn’t say that. Our marriage is over.”
JG: Lex pulls a set of legal documents out from under the large piece of kryptonite he’s using as a paperweight. “Good. Because I have those divorce papers you wanted. I’m sure you won’t object to the settlement, especially since I can have you arrested for what you did to me.” Lex hands her the papers and a pen.
KK: “What are you giving me?”
JG: “The Talon, which is probably more than you deserve.”
KK: “That’s it?”
JG: “You waved all rights to spousal support when you framed me for your murder.”
KK: “I’m sorry it came to that Lex. Lionel said it was the only way I’d be safe.”
JG: “And he’s always been such a beacon of truth.”
AM: Wait, did Lana just apologize for something?
MR: Just wait.
KK: “You’re the one who tricked me into marrying you with the pregnancy drugs.”
JG: “Because your motives were so pure. You’re hardly the first woman to spy on me for my father, but none of them ever got quite so self-righteous about it. Am I supposed to apologize for not making it easy for you to use me? Maybe I should have given you more information on my business and scientific advancements to pass on to Clark and Lionel. Or are you just upset that I wasn’t satisfied playing the obedient back-up role in your latest love triangle?”
KK: “What does that mean?”
JG: “It’s your pattern, Lana. You always have one guy you’re with and one waiting in the wings. You use us to keep each other in line and when we disappoint you, you promote the back-up.”
KK: “That’s not true.”
JG: “Please. I’ve watched you do it for years, long before you brought me into it. Whitney and Clark; Adam and Clark; Jason and Clark; Clark and me. Not that I don’t see the common thread. Who do you have on the line now? Jimmy Olsen?”
MR: Not any more.
TW: I can’t believe you’re doing this. After all these years Lex gets to be the one to tell her off for it?
JG: Like Clark would have ever had the backbone.
KK: “I don’t do that.”
JG: “Maybe not consciously. But look at your history. You always had someone to run to when your boyfriend let you down. And the only time that person wasn’t Clark, was when it was Clark you were running from.”
KK: Lana can’t find an argument. “Say you’re right and I do have a safety net. That’s not the only reason we didn’t work. It wasn’t just me, Lex. There were always 3 people in our relationship.”
JG: “That’s true. We both kept Clark in the middle of our marriage.” They’re starting to relax now.
TW: Oh God.
AoT: Oh that’s going to spark some fan fiction.
MR: I’m pretty sure that fan fiction has been around for awhile now.
KK: “Maybe we should have had him up there to take vows with us.”
JG: “My father would have loved that.”
TW: Please make it stop.
KK: “I am sorry, Lex. For listening to him. For letting it all get out of hand. But then I guess we know there’s blame to share.”
JG: “I guess there is.”
KK: “Maybe someday we could be friends again.” Lana signs the papers.
JG: Before Lex can say anything else, the doors burst open. Chloe storms in with Hope on her heels. Lex holds up a hand to stop Hope before her taser connects with Chloe’s back.
KK: “Lex, you have to help me.”
JG: Lex agrees to talk to her in the outer office and excuses himself from Lana.
AM: You just made Lana rational to make Chloe look worse, didn’t you?
KK: Well duh.
AoT: It’s not like that’s a first for this show.
