As retold by Maniac64 & PhantomChic
KK: Then we cut back to Chloe’s apartment. “But somehow in all the time I was getting closer to Lex, you never thought to mention that he was your lover.”
AoT: Chloe is defensive. “He didn’t tell you either!”
KK: “I didn’t encourage Lex to talk about past lovers. But you and I did talk about them. And you lied to me.”
AoT: We head into flashback land again. This time to the scene in “Unsafe” where Chloe tells Lana about her first time being with Jimmy. But we keep the guilty look away that they cut from the aired episode.
KK: “You didn’t sleep with Jimmy until long after you’d been with Lex, did you?”
AoT: “How could I tell you I was involved with Lex? At that point I was beginning to doubt whether I should be with him; if I could trust him between his past dalliances and his kryptonite experiments.”
KK: “You could have trusted me. I was confiding in you, I would have supported you.”
AoT: “I was scared. And I was right. After I found out about Clark…”
KK: “You couldn’t trust Lex.”
AoT: “Not without endangering Clark.”
KK: “But you did put Clark in danger. Every moment that you watched me get closer to Lex and kept your mouth shut. You’d been down that road, you knew what could happen. And you didn’t warn me.”
AoT: Chloe is nearly crying. “I didn’t…”
KK: “Every moment you stayed silent and watched me repeat your mistakes, you were endangering Clark. And me.”
AoT: “I’m sorry! I was hurt and embarrassed.”
KK: “And jealous.”
AoT: Guiltily: “Yes.”
KK: “And now I’m dead. And it’s your fault.”
AoT: Chloe is speechless. She steps back and Sex’s hands land on her shoulders. He stands behind her. “That’s enough.”
AM: Sex has to save Chloe from Lana’s ghost?
MR: Hey, Kahloe defended Lex.
KK: “Of course. You’re here to protect her.”
AoT: “I always do. I think it’s time for you to move on.”
KK: “Yes, I’m done here. I finally understand the truth of why I died, and I have done all that I can to set everyone on the right path.” A glowy white light comes from inside Lana and surrounds her as she begins to rise in the air. Sex mutters “Just ascend already.”
AoT: Chloe stops her. “Lana. I swear I will find out who killed you. And I won’t stop until I bring him to justice.” Sex looks concerned.
KK: “Only you could. Goodbye, Chloe.” Lana ascends in her white light and fades into the afterlife, never to be seen again.
AoT: Then we cut to Lex’s office. Lex is at his desk as Hope enters. “We’ve received the report from Cadmus Labs.
KK: “How fares our first public test subject?”
AoT: “Nicholas Mancini was administered the Salvation Drug and the results seem to be conclusive. His powers have been completely suppressed and he is now in perfect health.”
KK: “And his coterie of the undead?”
AoT: “They were under observation in custody. They have returned to their natural state. Apparently their deanimation happened just minutes after Mancini was given the drug.”
ED: What does that mean?
KK: They’re dead again.
AoT: We cut to a close-up of Martha. “Clark said he and Lois are fine, but the boy…”
KK: Cut to a close-up of Lionel. In fact this entire scene is a series of alternating close-up or mid-shots. “The boy was taken to Luthorcorp and ‘cured’. Lex issued a press release.”
AoT: “Is he alive?”
KK: “So Lex claims.”
AoT: “Clark said he had surrendered before Lex’s men arrived.”
KK: “That’s likely. But Lex’s people wouldn’t take that into consideration. That’s why we need a task force specifically dedicated to dealing with Meta Human threats in a manner that is safe for both the Meta Humans and the populace.”
AoT: “You may be right. At least Lois will report the way it really happened.”
KK: Lionel hmms as he pours two glasses of wine. He walks over to Martha as we finally see a wide shot to reveal that she is sitting at the end of his bed.
TW: No.
AoT: “I think we’ve talked about business enough for tonight.” She takes the glass of wine and sips as Lionel sits down next to her.
KK: And the CW insists that we cut away at this point.
JG: But Lionel and Martha have sex?
AoT: Off screen, but yes.
TW: No!
JG: Yes!
TW: Nooooo! Martha Kent cannot sleep with Lionel Luthor.
AoT: Get over it, Tom.
KK: We still have one scene left. The next morning, Lois sits at her desk at the Daily Planet. She stares down at the front page.
AoT: Close-up on the headline: "Luthorcorp Cure Stops Mutant Rampage". The byline says “Dirk Armstrong”.
KK: Lois looks from the paper to her computer screen where we see her article. Its headlined reads "Luthercorp Abducts Meta Human After Peaceful Surrender". Frustrated, Lois closes the document on her computer and throws the paper in the trash.
AoT: As she prepares to leave, Lois’ phone rings.
KK: “Lane. Hello, Martha. My editor wouldn’t run it. She said the leader of a zombie army surrendering peacefully lacked credibility.”
AoT: We see Martha getting dressed in Lionel’s room, the rumpled bed in the background, as she answers, “Maybe she’ll find an exclusive interview with a Senator more realistic. What do you say?”
KK: And fade to black.
ED: Why doesn’t Lois get the story?
KK: Struggling builds character.
ED: How can you say that? Lana never struggled.
KK: Which is why she sucked. And why I killed her so I wouldn’t have to play her anymore.
