7.02 Divided by TW and JG (Part VI)

JG: Lionel’s office at LuthorCorp. Lionel is on the phone with someone. “Yes, I have been expecting him. Send him in”.
TW: Jimmy walks into the office.
AM: So now Jimmy is reporting on Chloe?
MR: Not every scene is about Chloe.
KK: Most of them are about Lana, actually.
TW: “Mr. Luthor, I need to talk with you. Lana –“
JG: Lionel stands up. “I got your voice message, James. I must say, I am not pleased.” Jimmy craps his pants.
AM: Jimmy does not crap his pants!
AoT: Can we add it?
MR: Please?
TW: No! He does look scared, though. “Mr. Luthor, I –“
JG: “I know you did your best, James. I am just disappointed we did not plan for this. I thought Lex was shut off from all of his resources, but he clearly has at least one agent on the field. We shall have to be more careful in the future.”
TW: “Mr. Luthor, when I agreed to help Lana, you said you could help me with stories on Lex.”
AM: Jimmy is stealing Chloe’s season two arc! Way to be creative, guys!
JG: Like we would come up with an original storyline for Jimmy? Please. “James, I am not sure you have earned my assistance. You were to keep Lana safe and secure.”
TW: “I just need a little help, Mr. Luthor. My girlfriend wrote this story on Reeves Dam, and I need to make sure it is all correct. This could be a big break for –
JG: Lionel draws out Chloe’s name into a seven syllable word. “Miss Sullivan.” He smiles.
AM: (Shutters)
AoT: I love when he does that. So evil.
TW: “You know her?”
JG: “I know of her... work.” Bigger smile. “Let me take a look James.” Lionel starts to review the article. “Hmmm, I already see a few mistakes she would inadvertently made, lacking the information I possess. James, I think I may be able to help you, after all. Sit down, and we can talk about how we can still do business together.”
AM: I can’t believe Jimmy is going to sell Chloe out to Lionel!
AoT: But he is trying to help her. Doesn’t Jimmy love Chloe?
AM: Yes but –
AoT: Then isn’t it good he wants to take chances to help her?
AM: I guess, but –
AoT: Then we are all agreed! Next scene.
MR: How did you do that?
AoT: (Smile.) With style and flair, Michael. I did that with style and flair.

TW: Smallville jail. Lex is sitting on his cot, staring off into space. We hear a door open, and Hope walks in, with a small smile and a guard.
JG: “When you are ready, your car is waiting, Mr. Luthor.”
TW: Lex glares. “What are you talking about, Hope?”
JG: The guard unlocks the door, and leaves. “All the charges against you have been dropped, Mr. Luthor. Evidence has come to light that proves your wife faked her death and framed you for it. The district attorney is writing an apology letter as we speak, and a warrant for Lana Lang-Luthor has already been sent to every police station in Kansas.”
MR: I love Hope!
TW: Lex smiles, and stands up. “Well, I think I am ready to go.” Lex walks up to Hope. “How would you feel about taking a position as my personal assistant? I could use someone with your initiative and loyalty at LuthorCorp.”
JG: “Mr. Luthor, that would be –“
TW: Lex looks serious. "Let me be clear. There will be no repeats of the past. I am your superior. You will not assume you know what is best for me, or that you know more than I do. I appreciate initiative and honesty, but not when it is used at my expense. Am I clear?”
MR: Lex is actually talking down to an employee!
KK: How long until she stabs him in the back?
AM: Two episodes.
AoT: Five.
MR: Shut up!
JG: Hope looks a little less excited. “Yes, sir.”
TW: “Then welcome to LuthorCorp. Let’s go greet the press, and let the world know that I am a free man.”

TW: Smallville Hospital. Chloe is in bed, watching Lex’s press conference. “I want to make it clear that I do not hold the fine men and women of the Smallville Police Department at fault for his injustice. The officers were simply doing their duty, and we should all feel better knowing we are protected by such –“ She turns off the television.
JG: “If the police in this down were any dumber, they could work in Sunnydale.”
TW: Jimmy walks in. “Good morning! What a great day!”
JG: Big smile from Chloe. “Jimmy!”
KK+MR: (fake vomiting)
TW: “The sun is shining, the bird are singing and,“ he hands her a copy of the Daily Planet, “my girl has a front page story on the near disaster at Reeves Dam!”
JG: “Yes! Kahn ran it!”
TW: "Not just that. The word on the street is that you are in the lead for the open position at the City Desk.”
JG: “Opejn position? What open position?”
TW: “You didn’t hear? Bittleman got another Pulitzer, and he had been promoted to the top floor. His old job opened up and a little bird told me the a certain blond reporter” Jimmy points at Chloe “is a shoo in, if she keeps up the good work.”
AoT: Oh this is just too cute. Please stop before I have to hurt someone.
AM: I like it!
AoT: (Slaps AM)
AM: Oww!
AoT: Much better.
JG: “Jimmy this is great! Thank you so much!” They kiss, I gag.
KK: You wrote it!
JG: Tom wrote it.
TW: What, this is how Chloe and Jimmy talk!
KK: And it sucks!
MR: Like a a black hole.
KK: Exactly! Chloe and Jimym are a black hole of suck!
AM: I like Chloe and Jimmy!
AoT:(Slaps AM)
AM: Why do you keep doing that?
AoT: Aversion therapy. I am hoping you will eventually stop defending Jimmy if I keep slapping you.
JG: Does that really work?
AoT: Well, I get to hit someone, so I am happy.
JG: Good point. Chloe starts to read the article. Sudenly, she loses her smile and she looks concerned. “Jimmy, this wasn’t in my original article. What have you done?”
TW: Jimmy looks innocent. “What?”

JG: Back to Lionel’s office. He gets a call. “Hello?”
TW: Cut to Lana in a phone booth. “I told you I wasn’t safe in Kansas, Mr. Luthor.”
JG: “Lana! I am so glad you are safe! Where are you, I can send some – “
TW: “You can’t keep me safe. I am going to disappear, and go somewhere Lex can never find me.” Cut to Lex and Hope listening in on the conversation in his study. “Thank you for your help, Mr. Luthor, but I need to go.”
JG: “Lana, let me give you a number where you can reach me. If you need anything, anything at all, just let me know. Be safe.”
MR: Why would Lionel care about Lana?
AM: (snarky voice) Because everyone loves Lana.
KK: Not me.
JG: Or Lionel. But he does care about controlling LuthorCorp and keeping Lex is jail. Both are easier if Lana is missing.
MR: Then why not just kill her and hide the body?
KK: Yes! Lionel should kill Lana! Please!
JG: So Clark can rush in and break his neck? No thank you.
TW: A harsh, but fair, assessment of Clark’s behavior in any situation involving Lana.
