7.03 United by MR and AoT (Part IV)

MR: Clark and Chloe arrive at Lex’s hospital room. Lex is unconscious, hooked up to a bunch of machines. Hope is standing guard over him.
KK: Hope sees them and Clark goes into his usual baseless accusations.
TW: Come on, Michael! We know Lex is behind this.
MR: But how do Clark and Chloe know?
JG: It wouldn’t be Smallville unless Clark accused Lex of something without proof.
MR: Of course, if you want to change it…
TW: I’ll wait to use my veto, thank you.
MR: Your loss. “What did Lex do, Hope? Did he create another super solider like Wes, and he got out of control?”
KK: “Mr. Luthor’s lawyers will sue both you and Miss Sullivan if that kind of baseless slander appears in the Daily Planet. However…” Hope look nervously at Lex
MR: “What?”
KK: Hope looks and Chloe. “Mr. Luthor might be able to assist in the capture and containment of a dangerous meta-human – if he regained consciousness.”
MR: Clark looks at Hope, then and Chloe. “There is no way –“
KK: Chloe: “I’ll do it.”
MR: “Chloe! It’s to dangerous!”
KK: “More dangerous than letting Lex’s latest toy solider tear up Metropolis? I can do this Clark.” Chloe places her hand on Clark’s, and we hear her voice while she looks calmly at Clark. “And if I learn every secret Lex has ever hidden away, put his ass in jail forever and guarantee my first Pulitzer, then even better.”
JG: Now that sounds more like Chloe.
MR: Clark frowns. “Chloe, what did you -"
KK: Chloe pulls her hand away. “Nothing, Clark. Tao of Spock, needs of the many and all that.”
MR: “It’s too dangerous.”
AM: Since when does Chloe’s power work that way?
MR: Since I wrote the script.
KK: “Clark, I can do this. I’ll be fine. You go -” (she nods her head towards the door) “Check on our friends at the Planet. Let them know I’ll be out for the rest of the day.”
AM: Hey, where’s Jimmy! Shouldn’t he be here?
MR: He’s on assignment.
AM: Where?
MR: How should I know? He’s just on assignment.
KK: How about a porn convention in Las Vegas?
JG: Can Lionel go too? I can leave right now to research the role.
MR: No, we can’t all go look at porn! Jimmy is on assignment there.
AM: Jimmy Olsen doesn’t look at porn!
TW+MR+KK+JG: (laughs)
MR: Anyway, Clark leaves -
TW: Clark gives up that easily?
MR: First you can Clark is overprotective, now he is not protective enough? Clark can lock Chloe in a glass cell next time we -
KK: We already did that with Lana.
MR: Damn. Anyway, Tom, someone has to deal with Steven. Clark looks concerned, and walks out of the room and Chloe sits next to Lex and touches his hand.

KK: Chloe appears on a blank stage. There is a spotlight on her from above, and everything else is black. “Lex?”
AM: Hold on a minute. Why doesn’t Chloe immediately heal Lex, get a major brain injury and get into a coma?
KK: I like that plan. She and Moria can share a room, and get matching catheters.
TW: Do you want to get rid of the entire female cast, Kristin?
KK: If it gets the show cancelled faster, then yes. Yes I do.
MR: Chloe is combining her powers.
TW: Combining her powers?
KK: She can do that?
JG: Interesting.
AM: Cool.
TW: Why can’t Clark combine his powers?
MR: Because he is a dumbass.
TW: Clark is not dumb!
JG: Clearly you did not watch season six. Or five. Or seasons four, three, two and one.
MR: Chloe is using multiple powers at the same time, to create a more powerful effect. Like when you mix peanut butter and chocolate to make a tasty Reeses Peanut Butter Cup.
AM: Great. Now I am a candy.
MR: When Chloe uses her healing power to cure Lex, the regeneration power she took -
AM: Cured!
MR: Took at the beginning of the episode heals any damage she receives, preventing her from being injured like when she healed Lois. Chloe is also using her telepathy to read Lex’s mind while she does it.
AM: Chloe rocks! (Stands up, starts to dance)
TW: Why doesn’t Clark ever think to do things like that?
MR: Because Clark, while deeply stupid, is smart enough to know that overextending new powers leads to bad consequences.
AM: (Stops dancing) Say what now?
KK: Ha!
MR: Thus, the black empty stage.
KK: Chloe looks around, and sees a small child crying in the distance. She walks over, and sees a small red-haired boy huddled in the fetal position. “Hey, what’s your name?”
MR: The little boy just shivers and keeps crying. “He said I should never tell anyone anything. Giving up secrets makes you weak.”
TW: Wait, red hair? So this is -
JG: Lex’s inner child is a whimpering little sissy. It explains so much.
MR: Suddenly, a giant Lionel appears, and starts to scream at the little boy. “YOU ARE PITIFUL AND WEAK AND EVIL!!! NO ONE WILL EVER LOVE YOU!!!! I WISH YOU HAD NEVER BEEN BORN!!!”
TW: Luthor family parenting at its finest.
KK: Chloe reaches out to grab the giant, and he disappears. She turns around, and the little boy is also gone. “Ah, crap.”

MR: Hope at the hospital, looking over Chloe and Lex. She pulls out her cell phone and calls someone. “Send a retrieval team. When Captain Rogers burns out, secure and remove him to location Gamma 14 for examination. Mr. Luthor will want to know how he got free.” Looks back at Lex.

KK: Chloe is suddenly in the Luthor mansion, just behind another young Lex.
TW: Are you trying to save money by using clips of old episodes?
MR: (Smile) Call it foreshadowing. Chloe follow young Lex, and sees his repressed memory of Lillian killing Julianin Memoria.
AM: Wow, the Luthors sucked as parents.
KK: And they are even worse spirit guides.
JG: Someone wake me when I have a scene.

MR: Lionel and Martha watch a broadcast of Steven destroying more building and tossing cop cars.
JG: In bed!
MR: In her office.
TW: Martha has a bed in her office?
MR: No.
JG: Damn!
KK: Martha is horrified at the destruction. Lionel looks concerned, but as soon as Martha looks back at the screen, his expression changes.
JG: To lust!
TW: Enough, John!
MR: To detached interest at the destruction.
