as retold by RepairmanBob
JG: Back at the hospital. Chloe is still in bed, typing on her laptop. The Daily Planet is on the bedside table next to her. Clark comes in, looking conflicted.
KK: You mean confused.
TW: No, Clark is conflicted.
MR: Tom, you look constipated when you try to do “conflicted”. Just go with confused.
TW: I can do conflicted!
AM: Sure, and Kristin can do "intelligent".
KK: Hey!
AM: But we have never seen proof of it.
TW: Fine, fine. Clark walks in.
JG: Chloe touches Clark’s hand. “Clark I know what you are going to say.”
TW: “And how do you do that?
JG: “I was still out of commission, so I asked Jimmy to tie some loose ends for the article, and give it to Kahn. She wanted more proof, and Jimmy gave her my notes. I had not idea this would happen. The article was supposed to put Lex away, not give him a debug list to build Frakenstein 2.0.”
TW: “Chloe, do you realize what you have done? Lex is going to use this information to make the PAS even more dangerous than before. You just made things that much harder for the League.”
JG: Nervous Chloe smile. “But they can still handle it, right?”
MR: Poor Chloe, so naive.
TW: “Oliver said if it was up to him, you would never hear about another League mission, much less be part of one. The only way the League will work with us is if you show me everything you write about Lex before it goes to the Planet.”
AoT: Censorship at its finest. What heroism.
JG: “That is crap! You told Ollie to shove it in his quiver, right?”
TW: Clark makes a sad face. I can do a sad face, right?
KK: I hope so, since you have been practicing it for six years.
TW: “Chloe, I am not sure you should be on the team at all. Every time you go up against Lex, you end up in the hospital, or a new scar, or weeks of nightmares.”
JG: “I don’t have –“
TW: “Super-hearing, remember? You keep pushing and pushing, and Lex keeps pushing back harder and harder. You need to back off.”
JG: Chloe looks deeply hurt. “How can you say that? After all the times we have saved each other, you think I am a helpless princess? That I need to be rescued or locked away?” Cue the waterworks.
AoT: We certainly know Allison can do that.
TW: Clark look… sad. He sees a Congratulations card, with a note about moving under the Tiffany lights.
AM: From Jimmy?
Aot: I think Lionel sends it.
MR: Lex sends it as a threat!
TW: We’ll keep the name off it, so the fans can argue. Clark asks, with faked enthusiasm, “You are getting promoted?”
JG: “That’s the rumor” Chloe answers in a choked-up tone.
JG: And now the fun part!
KK: Chloe suffered, Jimmy was revealed to be a cross dresser, Allison is pissed – I’ve already had plenty of fun.
AM: Oh, shut up.
TW: Cut to a view of the earth from a computer monitor. We pan back to a dark room with red lighting. Men and women are working on computers. One of the men takes a folder, and leaves the room. He walks down a short passage, and enters a dark office, with bare walls. He kneels in from of a granite desk. We pan up to a man working at the desk. He is a handsome, dark haired man in his early 40’s. After a few seconds, he looks up.
JG: “For your sake, his had best be important.”
TW: The man stands up, and hands his boss the folder. “I knew you would want to see this, my Lord. I detected a faint Kryptonian energy signature. It was located on Terra.”
JG: “Terra?”
TW: “The third planet from the sun of an insignificant star system.”
JG: “You bother me for this? It is a ghost, or a broken AI. This is nothing! Report to a correction unit for punishment.” He looks back down at his desk.
TW: “My Lord, I thought the same, so I checked the identify of the energy signature. It is the identifier of the House of El.”
JG: The Boss looks up. “The House of El? I watched with my own eyes as the line of El was ended. I soaked my hands in the blood of its last member. You are wasting my time. Be gone!”
TW: “I apologize, my Lord, but to be sure, I sent a detection team into the Phantom Zone.”
JG: For the first time, the Boss looks interested. “The Phantom Zone?”
TW: “We investigated the Zone. We located Jor-El’s escape portal, my Lord.”
JG: The boss looks concerned.
TW: “My Lord, the portal has been activated. Recently. And it leads to Terra.”
JG: Shock, quickly covered up. “No. Only the blood of the House of El could activate… Who else knows about this?”
AoT: What are you too planning?
TW: Wait and see, Annette. Wait and see. “Only you, my Lord. I had the team sent to the Zone eliminated as soon as they gave me their report. Should I notify –“
JG: The Boss stands up and walks around his desk. “No, you were correct to bring this to my attention. You have done well.”
TW: “Thank you, my Lord.”
JG: The Boss walks up to face the man. "I appreciate your initiative, and I will reward it “ a blade drops into his hand, and he slashes it across the throat of the man “with a quick death.”
MR: Cool!
KK: Wow.
TW: The man looks surprised. He drops to his knees, and looks up at the Boss with total devotion. “Thank… you…my…”, and he drops to the ground.
AM: This is some fucked up shit.
JG: The Boss looks at the file, and walks back to his desk. Pan back, so we see the body in the front of the shot, with the desk behind it. The Boss pulls up a hologram of Earth. Cut the green and blue globe circling on the desk, with the Boss’s eyes glaring down at it, into the camera.
TW: And cue the credits.
