7.03 United by MR and AoT (Part X)

as retold by RepairmanBob

KK: Chloe is back at Belle Reve. She standing next to a doctor, looking at a patient from behind a wall of security glass – think Lex’s room in Shattered or Lionel’s room in Mortal. The patient, a young woman with red hair, is sitting in the back corner, wearing a straight jacket
MR: “She has to be sedated at all times, Ms…
KK: “Sullivan. Chloe Sullivan.”
MR: “Ms. Grey had no history of violence until she killed her family, Miss Sullivan. The police said it was like nothing they had ever seen. They said it looked like they had been torn apart. From the inside. (Shutters.) Why do you want to talk to her again, Miss Sullivan?”
KK: “The Daily Planet is doing a series or articles on the abnormally high crime rates in this area of Kansas, Dr. Arkham. Unusual deaths, high violent crimes, a murder rate that is higher than most major cities – all unexplained by the police or the government. We are trying to identify common factors.”
MR: “Well, it is your choice Ms. Sullivan. Are you sure you want to go in there alone?”
KK: “Positive. I need this to be a confidential meeting if I am going to get any useful information. I will call you when I am finished.”
MR: Dr. Arkham lets Chloe into the cell, seals it and walks off screen.
AM: Wait, he is just going to leave Chloe there? With a dangerous criminal? What kind of doctor is he?
JG: The kind who gets hired at Belle Reve.
KK: Chloe moves in, and looks at Ms. Grey. The young woman is completely sedated – in a daze. “I don’t know why I let you talk me into this. I can’t help her. I can’t help any of them.” She drops a folder, which opens to show files and pictures of more people.
MR: Sex appears.
KK: Once again, Chloe uses Sex to bolster her self-esteem.
JG: She does seem to use Sex as a source of inspiration during the tough times.
AM: No she –
TW: Whipped cream anyone?
AM: Tom!
MR: “Of course you can. This woman needs your help. Just look at her.”
KK: “I can’t fix -
AM: Cure!
KK: Fix!
AM: Cure!
KK: Cure!
AM: Fix! Wait!
MR: Hah!
KK: “I can’t heal a person I don’t care about. That is just how the power works. I could save Lois, or that little girl, but these people are… they are monsters. Have you seen their files?”
MR: “Of course I have.” Dumbass.
KK: “They have done horrible things. I don’t want to save them. I want her” (looks at Ms. Grey) “to spend the rest of her life suffering in here for what she did.”
AM: Wait, since when is Chloe so mean?
TW: Enough, Allison. Chloe is too mean, too nice, too sweet, to hard – just give it a rest!
MR: Wow, you pissed off Tom! Nicely done! “This is all in your head. You just need to control your power.”
KK: “Like I did with Victor Creed? I almost died helping him! It was an accident!”
MR: “No, it was proof that you have a deep compassion for all people. Ms. Grey is a victim, just as much as the people she killed. Do you think she asked to be infected by meteor rocks? To be given an ability she could not control?”
KK: “And just look how she used it. Based on the hospital files I hacked, she used her telekinesis to rip her family into nugget-sized pieces.”
AM: Nugget sized pieces?
MR: Catchy, isn’t it? “Yes, an accidental tragedy that occurred with the first expression of her power. And since that horrible day, she has been on a suicide watch and medicated into a catatonic daze.”
KK: “Some things are unforgivable.”
MR: Sex places his hand on Chloe’s shoulder. “If you cannot find the slightest shred of compassion in your heart for this pitiful wretch, then what about her victims?”
KK: "What are you talking about?”
AM: Yeah, what are you talking about?
MR: “How many lives would have been saved if she never had this ability? How many people will she kill when she eventually gets out of this medieval pit and loses control again? Or maybe you can feel something for the innocent people who will die when Lex gets her into one of his labs, and gives this ability to one of his abominations? Can you find some sympathy for them?” Sex has a slightly sinister smile. “Or maybe you should think about the innocent people you could help with this ability.”
KK: Chloe‘s expression turns blank for a minute, then she turns to look at Sex.
MR: “Think about all the people you have saved over the past six years, simply by helping Clark. Have you two saved dozens of people? Hundreds? How many more could you have helped, if you could do more than type on a computer?”
AM: Bullshit! Chloe can do a lot more than that!
KK: Yeah, she cries too. “Don’t screw with me.”
MR: “The choice is yours. But ask yourself: Do you only care about beloved family members and adorable preschoolers? Are you that shallow? Or do you really want to help the people who have been hurt most by the meteor rocks?”
KK: “Go to hell.” Chloe turns back to Ms. Grey, closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.
JG: And kisses her!
TW: Dear Lord, John! Get your head out of the gutter!
KK: Hmm, I like that idea.
AM: No girl-on-girl kissing!
MR: I have to agree – we have to leave something for sweeps. Chloe reaches her hand out towards the patient. Sex looks on proudly. Just before Chloe touches her, we go to the credits.
AM: Wait! Tom still has a veto!
MR: Damn, I was hoping we were done here.
AM: Tom, you can fix this! Get rid of Sex and Kahloe! Make all this right!
KK: Kill Lana!
JG: No! Kill Lionel.
TW: Michael, I would like -
AM: No Sex and Kahloe!
KK: Dead Lana!
JG: Dead Lionel!
MR: Naked exploding robot women!
(Everyone looks at MR)
MR: What?
TW: I want Clark in a new outfit.
AM: What? How in the hell are you wasting your veto on clothes when you could save Chloe?
TW: No red jacket, no blue shirt.
AM: I can’t believe this!
MR: Anything specific in mind?
AM: What is wrong with you?
TW: Maybe khakis and a polo shirt?
AM: Aggggghhh!! (Runs out of writing room)
MR: Sounds like we have a deal.
